What you get in every serving
Every figure below is per serving of two scoops (35g):
- 22g protein, with whey protein isolate first on the ingredient list — isolate is whey filtered further than concentrate, so more of what's left is protein
- MCT oil powder — medium-chain triglycerides, a different shape of fat from the long-chain fats in most foods
- 120 calories, 1.5g total fat and 4g total carbohydrate, including 1g of dietary fiber
- Calcium 109mg (8% DV), magnesium 39mg (9% DV), phosphorus 88mg (7% DV), potassium 250mg (5% DV), iron 2mg (9% DV) and sodium 180mg (8% DV)
- Vitamin D at 4mcg (18% DV)
- Sweetened with stevia extract (leaf), the only sweetener named on the ingredient list
- Non-GMO and vegetarian
Why whey isolate
Whey protein concentrate is whey filtered to a point. Isolate goes through additional filtration, which strips away more of the fat and lactose and leaves a higher proportion of protein per gram.
Whey is a complete protein — it supplies all of the essential amino acids, the ones your body can't make on its own and has to get from food.
The panel prints the protein as a single figure, 22g per serving. It doesn't break out how many grams of that come from the isolate, so we won't either.
Why the MCT
Most protein powders stop at protein. This one includes MCT oil powder, a source of medium-chain triglycerides. They're a different shape of fat from the long-chain fats in most foods, which is why MCTs turn up in keto and low-carb routines. Here they round out a shake that would otherwise be protein alone. The panel gives the MCT oil powder no gram figure of its own.
How it tastes and mixes
Two cocoa powders do the work — Nidau and Nightfall — rather than one, with sunflower lecithin on the list to help the powder disperse instead of clumping on the surface. Sea salt sits alongside the chocolate, with natural flavors and stevia. Mix two scoops with 6-8 oz of water or your favorite beverage, as the label directs.
Who it's for
Anyone rebuilding after a hard session, filling a protein gap on a busy day, or looking for a chocolate shake sweetened with stevia. At 4g of carbohydrate a serving it fits low-carb eating without much arithmetic. It contains milk, so it isn't one for anyone avoiding dairy.
How to use it
As a dietary supplement, adults mix two (2) scoops with 6-8 oz (177-237 ml) of water or favorite beverage daily. For best results, take 20-30 minutes before a meal with 8 oz (237ml) of water or as directed by your healthcare professional.
