Biotin is vitamin B7, and it's what this category is organized around. The dose here is 5,000 mcg — five milligrams. It reads as 16,667% DV because the Daily Value for biotin is very small; the same arithmetic is why thiamin, B6, B12 and pantothenic acid show big percentages here too.

PABA, listed on the panel as p-amino benzoic acid; horsetail extract (Equisetum arvense L.), the whole herb of a reed-like plant and the botanical on the front of this bottle; fo-ti root (Polygonum multiflorum); bamboo extract from the leaf of Phyllostachys viridis; stinging nettle (Urtica dioica L.); Chinese peony root (Paeonia lactiflora); spirulina (Arthrospira platensis), a blue-green algae; saw palmetto fruit (Serenoa repens); plant sterols from soy bean (Glycine max); alfalfa herb (Medicago sativa); and barley grass (Hordeum vulgare L.).

The vitamins and minerals

Forms are what panels differ on — vitamin A is beta-carotene rather than retinol, vitamin E the acetate ester, folate folic acid with the DFE figure beside it, and every mineral carries its form too.

How it's taken

Two capsules daily, for adults only. The shell is hypromellose, a vegetable capsule; rice flour, vegetable magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide make up the rest of the label. The plant sterols come from soy, so this one carries a soy allergen line.
