What you get in every strip

  • 10mg Crocus sativus (saffron) — the dried stigmas of the saffron crocus flower
  • 75mcg chromium, as chromium picolinate — 214% of the Daily Value
  • 10mcg molybdenum, as molybdenum glycinate — the panel lists 400mcg of the glycinate, which is what supplies the 10mcg of molybdenum itself, 22% of the Daily Value
  • One strip is the whole serving: 130mg of oral film
  • Mixed berry flavor, sweetened with steviol glycoside
  • Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free
  • 30 strips per pack — a month at one a day

About the saffron

Saffron is the stigma of Crocus sativus, a small purple autumn-flowering crocus. Each flower carries three of them, and they're still picked by hand, which is why saffron is sold by the gram rather than the jar. On the panel it's listed by its botanical name, Crocus sativus, with a dagger beside it — the Daily Value for saffron hasn't been established, so there's no percentage to give.

About the two trace minerals

Chromium and molybdenum are both essential trace minerals: your body needs them in microgram quantities and can't make either one, so they have to come from food or a supplement. The forms matter as much as the amounts. Chromium here is chromium picolinate rather than a bare mineral salt, and molybdenum is molybdenum glycinate rather than a bare molybdenum salt. At 75mcg the chromium sits well above its Daily Value at 214%; the molybdenum lands at 22%.

Why a strip

An oral strip is a thin dissolving film. Pullulan does the film-forming — it's a polysaccharide made by fermentation, the same material behind clear vegetarian capsule shells — with cellulose giving it body and lecithin helping everything stay evenly mixed through the sheet. Put it on your tongue and it dissolves. That's the whole appeal: no glass of water, no capsule to get down, nothing rattling in a bag. It travels flat in a pocket or a carry-on, which is more than most supplement formats can say.

How it tastes

Mixed berry, tart rather than syrupy. Malic acid does the tartness, sorbitol syrup softens it, and steviol glycoside from the stevia leaf does the sweetening. The strip is small enough that the flavor is over almost as soon as it starts.

Who it's for

Anyone who's tired of capsules, or who never quite remembers to take them. People who want their saffron, chromium and molybdenum in one once-a-day step they can do standing up, at a desk, in a car. Vegans and vegetarians — there's no gelatin anywhere in it. And anyone building a simple daily routine rather than a shelf of bottles.

How to use it

Place 1 oral strip on the tongue daily and allow it to dissolve.

What's in it

Pullulan, Cellulose, Malic Acid, Sorbitol Syrup, Lecithin, Mixed Berry Flavor, Steviol Glycoside.
