The four mushrooms
Lion's mane — Hericium erinaceus — is the shaggy white fungus that hangs off hardwood in cascading spines, and it's the one most people arrive looking for by name. At 30mg it's the largest single row on this panel.
Maitake, Grifola frondosa, is the hen of the woods: a rosette of overlapping grey-brown fronds that grows at the base of oaks. It's a culinary mushroom first — a staple in Japanese cooking — and a supplement second. 25mg here.
Cordyceps sinensis is the wild, high-altitude species of cordyceps, the one that grows on insect larvae in mountain grassland and gave the genus its reputation long before anyone put it in a strip. 25mg.
Shiitake, Lentinus edodes, rounds the blend out at 20mg. It's the brown-capped mushroom you already know from the produce aisle. It doesn't make the front of the pack, but it's on the Supplement Facts panel, so it's in the strip — worth knowing if you're comparing mushroom blends row by row.
Why a strip instead of a capsule or a powder
Mushroom supplements usually arrive as a capsule or as a powder you stir into coffee. This one is a film: pullulan — a polysaccharide made by fermentation, the same material vegetarian capsule shells use — with cellulose and xanthan gum for structure, lecithin to hold it together and medium chain triglycerides, a shorter-chain fat, carrying the blend through the film.
The trade-off is worth stating plainly. A 260mg strip holds milligrams, not the grams you'd scoop from a tub. What you get instead is something flat, pocketable and taken without water. Read the panel and decide which of those two things you want.
How it tastes
Chocolate, and only lightly sweet. The sweetener list is short — monk fruit extract and steviol glycosides, with no sugar alcohols at all. It's on the tongue for a few seconds and then it's gone.
Who it's for
Anyone who wants a daily mushroom blend without a capsule to swallow or a powder to measure. It's vegetarian, it's gluten free, it carries no allergen line, and a pack runs a month at one strip a day. It suits a desk drawer, a gym bag or a coat pocket equally well.
How to use it
Place 1 oral strip on the tongue daily and allow it to dissolve.
What's in it
Pullulan, Cellulose, Lecithin, Chocolate flavor, Monk Fruit extract, Medium chain triglycerides, Xanthan Gum, Steviol glycosides.
