What you get in every capsule
- Resveratrol (Polygonum cuspidatum) (root) — 600 mg, a complex containing 50% trans-resveratrol
- A vegetable capsule shell — hypromellose, no gelatin
- Vegan, gluten free and vegetarian
Daily Value isn't established for resveratrol, so the panel prints the milligrams and marks the percentage column with a double asterisk. That's a labelling convention, not an omission.
What resveratrol is
Resveratrol is a plant compound — a stilbenoid, in the chemistry. The source in this bottle is Polygonum cuspidatum, the root of Japanese knotweed, and that is exactly what this panel names.
That distinction matters if you're comparing bottles. A label that says only "resveratrol" has told you the compound but not the plant, the plant part or the form. This one prints all three: the species, the root, and the proportion that's trans.
Trans- versus plain resveratrol
Resveratrol exists in two geometric forms, trans- and cis-. Same atoms, arranged differently around a double bond. Trans-resveratrol is the form named on the front of this bottle, and the panel is specific about it. The 600mg is a resveratrol complex, and 50% of that complex is trans-resveratrol — printed on the label rather than implied by the product name. The panel doesn't break the remaining portion out by name, so neither will we.
How it's taken
One capsule, twice a day, 20-30 minutes before a meal. There's no flavor to get along with, nothing to shake up and nothing to sweeten — the whole thing is a small vegetable capsule and a glass of water.
The shell is hypromellose, a vegetable capsule rather than gelatin. The only other thing in it is microcrystalline cellulose, a purified plant fiber used as a filler. Two ingredients on the "other ingredients" line, both of them plant-derived.
Who it's for
Anyone shopping for trans-resveratrol specifically, rather than a generic resveratrol capsule that never says which form or how much of it. Anyone keeping a routine vegan or vegetarian, since the shell is plant-based and there's no gelatin anywhere in it. And anyone who prefers a clean single-ingredient bottle to a multi-botanical blend — this panel has exactly one active row on it, which makes it easy to slot next to whatever else you already take.
How to use it
As a dietary supplement take one (1) capsule twice a day. For best results take 20-30 min before a meal or as directed by your healthcare professional.
