  • 1000 mg L-Glutamine
  • 2.5 mg Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxine hydrochloride) — 147% DV
  • Daily Value isn't established for the BCAA or the glutamine, so the panel marks both rows **
  • Gluten free, hormone free
  • Sweetened with sucralose and acesulfame potassium — no sugar on the panel

What BCAA 2:1:1 means

BCAA is short for branched-chain amino acids: leucine, isoleucine and valine, three of the nine essential amino acids — the ones your body can't build itself and has to take in from food. "Branched-chain" describes their shape, a side chain that forks rather than running straight.

The 2:1:1 is the ratio they're combined in, and it's the ratio most BCAA products are built around. The panel gives all three as a single 4000 mg row rather than breaking out individual weights, so that's how we report it: 4000 mg of BCAA in a 2:1:1 ratio per half-scoop.

The other two rows

L-Glutamine, 1000 mg — glutamine is an amino acid, and the most abundant free amino acid in human blood. It's classed as conditionally essential, meaning your body ordinarily makes its own rather than relying on food for it.

Vitamin B6, 2.5 mg — here as pyridoxine hydrochloride, the salt form of B6 you'll see on most panels. At 2.5 mg it's the only row on this panel with an established Daily Value, and it lands at 147% of it.

How it tastes and how it mixes

Fruit punch, built from a fruit punch flavour with citric acid for the tart edge and a pinch of sodium chloride and potassium citrate in the background. The colour is beetroot, not a synthetic dye. It's sweetened with sucralose and acesulfame potassium, so there's no sugar carrying the flavour.

Half a scoop in 8-10 oz of something cold. Give it a minute — the powder takes a few moments to go fully into solution, and a shaker bottle does the job faster than a spoon.

Who it's for

Anyone who wants amino acids around a workout without a full protein shake — lifters, runners, anyone training fasted or in the morning, and anyone who just likes having something that tastes good to sip through a session. At 45 servings a tub it's an easy one to keep on the counter. Take it before training, after, or between meals: the label leaves all three open.

How to use it

Mix 1/2 a scoop (6.5g) in 8-10 oz (237-296ml) of cold beverage. It will take a few minutes for all the powder to dissolve in the beverage. Best taken pre-workout, post-workout, or between meals.

What's in it

Citric Acid, Fruit Punch Flavor, Beetroot (color), Potassium Citrate, Sucralose, Silicon Dioxide, Acesulfame Potassium, Sodium Chloride.

Net Wt. 11oz (310g) · 45 servings · Serving size 1/2 scoop (6.5 g)
