What shilajit and cordyceps are

Shilajit is the panel's Asphaltum punjabianum: a dark, tarry resin that seeps out of rock faces in high mountain ranges and has been collected and used in traditional Ayurvedic practice for centuries. In modern supplements it shows up as a sticky resin in a jar or a loose powder in a capsule. Here it's 50mg, carried in the film instead — which for a lot of people is the appeal, because raw shilajit resin is famously bitter and famously messy.

Cordyceps militaris is a fungus, and the species name is worth reading twice. Militaris is the bright orange club fungus grown commercially on substrate; it's a different organism from the wild high-altitude relative you'll also see sold as cordyceps. This strip uses militaris, at 50mg.

Oyster peptide is what it sounds like: peptides — short chains of amino acids — sourced from oyster. It's also why this pack carries an allergen line. Contains shellfish. If you avoid shellfish, this isn't your strip.

Why a strip instead of a capsule

The film is pullulan, a polysaccharide made by fermentation and the same material vegetarian capsule shells are made from, with cellulose and pectin for body and lecithin holding it together. You put it on your tongue, it dissolves, and that's the whole ritual — no water, no glass, nothing to swallow.

The honest trade-off is arithmetic. A 280mg strip holds milligrams, not grams. That's what makes it flat enough for a wallet and that's what caps the dose, so read the panel and decide whether those are the numbers you want.

How it tastes

Chocolate, over a sweetener base of monk fruit extract and steviol glycosides with erythritol and sorbitol. It's a couple of seconds of flavour rather than a dessert — the strip is thin and it's gone quickly.

Who it's for

Adults who want a daily shilajit and cordyceps routine and would rather not add another capsule to the pile. It travels flat, needs nothing to wash it down, and a pack is a month at one a day. Skip it if you're allergic to shellfish.
