What bee bread actually is
Bee bread is pollen after the hive has worked on it. Foragers pack pollen into the comb, and there it ferments — which is exactly what the panel calls it: bee bread extract, naturally fermented pollen. In parts of Eastern Europe it's sold under the name perga.
So raw bee pollen and bee bread aren't the same material. The fermentation is the difference, and it's the fermented form in these capsules, listed on the panel as bee bread extract at 700mg per capsule.
If you've only met bee products as a jar of loose granules to spoon over yogurt, this is that same family in a form you can carry and take on a schedule. Dose is usually why people move to capsules — a spoonful of loose pollen is a guess, and 700mg isn't.
And the vitamin C
Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin, which is to say your body neither manufactures it nor banks a reserve of it; it comes in through what you eat and drink. Each capsule declares 48mg of it on the panel, next to the bee bread.
That's the formula, start to finish. Two lines on the Supplement Facts panel, one line in Other Ingredients.
How it's taken
One capsule, once a day, with a meal. Nothing to mix, nothing to measure, no flavour to get along with — which makes it a simple thing to add to whatever you already take at breakfast. Capsules also travel better than powders do, and thirty of them is a month's worth in a bottle you can throw in a bag.
Who it's for
Anyone who wants bee bread in a measured daily dose rather than by the spoonful. Anyone who keeps a short supplement shelf and likes the ingredient lists to be short as well. Vegetarians, since the shell is plant-derived — though it's worth saying plainly that bee bread is a bee product, so these capsules are vegetarian and not vegan. And if bee products or pollen don't agree with you, this is one to pass on. Read the caution below before you start.
