Vitamin D3 Softgels
Vitamin D3 Softgels are 2,000 IU of cholecalciferol in one small softgel — 50 mcg, 250% of the Daily Value — with a hundred softgels and a hundred servings to a bottle. The Supplement Facts panel has exactly one row on it, and that row is the whole product. The label's own descriptor: Supports Bone Density & Healthy Cell Function.*

- Gluten free
- A softgel of gelatin, glycerin and water, filled with soybean oil and corn oil
D3, D2, and why the number on the label says D-3
Vitamin D comes in two forms that get sold side by side, and the label distinguishes them for a reason.
D3 is cholecalciferol, the form the body makes in skin exposed to sunlight. D2 is ergocalciferol, a different molecule sold under the same two words. Both get called vitamin D, which is why a panel that means D3 prints "Vitamin D-3 (as cholecalciferol)" rather than leaving it at "Vitamin D". This one does, and it prints the form in the row itself so you don't have to go hunting for it.
Mcg and IU are the same amount twice
Here's the thing that trips up half of vitamin D shopping: 50 mcg and 2,000 IU aren't two doses, they're one dose written in two units. Supplement labels moved to micrograms when the Supplement Facts format was updated, but most people still search in international units — so the panel prints both, and so does this page.
The 250% is the panel's third way of saying the same thing — the same serving, set against the Daily Value for vitamin D. Three numbers, one dose, one row.
Why it's an oil-filled softgel
Vitamin D is fat-soluble rather than water-soluble, so it's supplied dissolved in oil rather than pressed into a dry tablet. In this softgel that oil is soybean oil and corn oil, and the shell around it is gelatin, glycerin and water.
Two things worth knowing before you buy, both straight off the ingredient list. The shell is gelatin, which is animal-derived — this isn't a vegan or vegetarian softgel. And there's soybean oil inside it. The label prints no Contains line, but the soy is there in plain sight in the other ingredients, so check it if you avoid soy.
How it's taken
One softgel daily, swallowed whole with water — no chewable, no drops to measure, no powder. At one a day, a 100-count bottle runs a little over three months.
Who it's for
Anyone who wants a plain, single-nutrient vitamin D3 supplement at 2,000 IU, with no blend built around it and nothing else on the panel to account for. It's gluten free, and it suits people who'd rather buy one vitamin at a time than reach for a multivitamin.
How to use it
As a dietary supplement, adults take one (1) softgel daily or as directed by a healthcare professional.
