- FAQ: best mushroom gummies
- Sources
The short answer: The best mushroom gummies show three things on their Supplement Facts panel: the extract's real weight, the part of the mushroom used and the added sugar per serving. Headline numbers can run ten times the extract: one 14-mushroom gummy prints 2,000 mg beside the words "From 200mg of 10:1 Extract." Across the 12 gummy labels we read from six brands, added sugar ran from 0 g to 5 g per serving.
Key takeaways
- A mushroom gummy's headline milligrams can describe the dried mushroom behind the extract, so find the line that states the extract weight.
- Added sugar ranged from 0 g per 2-gummy serving in DIRTEA's lion's mane gummy, which uses sugar alcohol, to 5 g per 2-gummy serving in our Mushroom Gummies.
- Gaia Herbs lists 400 mg of lion's mane fruiting body extract per 2-gummy serving, far more lion's mane than the 87 mg per 1-gummy serving in our Lion's Mane & Chaga Mushroom Gummies.
- Serving sizes run from 1 to 2 gummies, and some labels allow up to three servings a day, so compare extract per gummy as well as per serving.
We sell four of the 12 gummies below, so this is a disclosed roundup, not a neutral one. Competitor numbers come from each brand's product page and Supplement Facts image as we found them on September 23, 2026. There are no star ratings, because a label can't tell anyone how a gummy will suit them.
Which mushroom gummies are best for each goal?
The best mushroom gummy depends on your goal: a daily multi-mushroom blend, lion's mane for focus, reishi for evenings, cordyceps for daytime, or no sugar at all.
| If you want... | Our pick | Also worth a look | Deciding label fact |
|---|---|---|---|
| A daily blend | Mushroom Gummies | Fungies Best Multi | 250 mg per 2 gummies vs every species' mg shown |
| Focus, several mushrooms | Lion's Mane & Chaga Mushroom Gummies | Gaia Herbs Lion's Mane | 4 extracts at 87 mg each vs 400 mg of lion's mane |
| An evening routine | Reishi Mushroom Relax Gummies | Troomy Calm | 200 mg reishi plus 4 extras vs reishi alone |
| Daytime, no caffeine | Cordyceps Mushroom Energy Gummies | Troomy Boost | 200 mg cordyceps plus 4 extras vs cordyceps alone |
| No sugar | None of ours | DIRTEA Lion's Mane | 0 g sugars, 4 g sugar alcohol |
Ours list more extract by weight in three rows and trail on detail or sugar elsewhere. Weight isn't strength when a label skips the ratio.
Why do some mushroom gummy labels say 2,000 mg?
Some mushroom gummy labels print the weight of dried mushroom that went into the extract, which can be ten times the extract actually in each gummy.
Troomy's Daily 14 Mushroom Blend shows 2000mg in the amount column for its 1-gummy serving. The ingredient line just above that figure ends with "From 200mg of 10:1 Extract." So each gummy holds 200 mg of extract, and 2,000 mg is the mushroom it started as.
Question 32 of the FDA's Dietary Supplement Labeling Guide says dried extracts are declared by the weight of the dried extract. Troomy's panel prints both the 200 mg extract and the 2,000 mg starting weight, so the 10:1 math is easy to check.
Gaia Herbs keeps them apart: 400 mg of extract in the panel, and a line underneath saying each serving equals 3.2 g of dry mushrooms.
So compare extract against extract, for the same number of gummies. After that, read the words beside each mushroom: "fruiting body" and "mycelium" name different starting material, a difference our fruiting body vs mycelium comparison unpacks.
Which multi-mushroom gummies are best for everyday use?
Of the three multi-mushroom gummies we compared, ours lists the most extract per labeled serving, Fungies shows the most detail, and Troomy packs the most into one gummy.
| Gummy (serving) | Extract per serving | Part and split | Added sugar |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ours: Mushroom Gummies (2 gummies) | 250 mg, 10 species | Fruiting body; one blend total | 5 g (10% DV) |
| Troomy Daily (1 gummy) | 200 mg, 14 species | Fruiting body and mycelium; proprietary blend | 2 g (4% DV) |
| Fungies Best Multi (1 gummy) | 187.5 mg, 7 species | Fruiting body; each species listed | 3 g (6% DV) |
Gummy for gummy, Troomy's Daily beats ours: 200 mg of extract and 2 g of added sugar, against our 125 mg and 2.5 g. Ours leads per serving only because its serving is two gummies. Troomy's Daily label also allows 1 gummy up to three times a day, which reaches 600 mg of extract. What ours does offer is "Fruiting Body 10:1 Extract" printed after all ten mushrooms, while Troomy's blend mixes in mycelium.
Fungies has the most open label. Lion's mane gets 50 mg (5:1), reishi 12.5 mg (20:1), and cordyceps, chaga, turkey tail, maitake and shiitake 25 mg each (10:1).
Neither ours nor Troomy's splits the blend. A blend's ingredients are listed heaviest first, so the first-named mushroom should be the biggest share: maitake on ours, red reishi on Troomy's. Our label guide to proprietary blends covers that rule.
Pick ours for the most fruiting body extract in a labeled serving, if two gummies and 5 g of added sugar are fine with you. Pick Fungies if seeing every milligram matters most.
From our shop: Mushroom Gummies — a 30-serving jar whose panel names all ten mushrooms as 10:1 fruiting body extracts, for adults who want one daily blend instead of several single-species bottles.
What are the best mushroom gummies for focus?
For lion's mane alone, Gaia Herbs' label is the clearest: 400 mg of fruiting body extract per 2-gummy serving. Our Lion's Mane & Chaga Mushroom Gummies suit you if you want four mushrooms.
| Gummy (serving) | Lion's mane per serving | Part and form | Added sugar |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ours: Lion's Mane & Chaga (1 gummy) | 87 mg extract, plus 3 other mushrooms | Part not stated | 2 g |
| Gaia Herbs (2 gummies) | 400 mg extract | Fruiting body | 1 g |
| Om (2 gummies) | 1 g, not an extract | Mycelial biomass and fruit body | 4 g |
| Troomy Focus (2 gummies) | 80 mg of 10:1 extract | Fruiting bodies and mycelium | 4 g |
| DIRTEA (2 gummies) | 2,400 mg of 8:1 extract | Fruiting body | 0 g, plus 4 g sugar alcohol |
If lion's mane is the whole point, ours isn't the pick on paper. It splits 348 mg evenly across lion's mane, shiitake, chaga and maitake, and it doesn't state the part or a ratio.
Gaia's 1 g of added sugar is also the lowest among the focus gummies sweetened with sugar. Its only sweet ingredients are fruit, fruit juice and puree concentrates, and the FDA's page on added sugars counts sugars from concentrated fruit juices as added.
Om's 1 g is lion's mane mycelial biomass and fruit body cultured on organic whole oats, a whole-material weight that won't line up with the extracts. DIRTEA adds 2.5 mcg of vitamin B12 (104% DV) and 6 mg of B5 (120% DV) per serving, worth knowing if you already take a B complex.
Which reishi and cordyceps gummies suit sleep or energy?
Reishi gummies are usually sold for evenings and cordyceps gummies for daytime, and ours differ from Troomy's single-mushroom versions by adding four other ingredients each.
| Gummy (serving) | Mushroom per serving | Other panel rows | Added sugar |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ours: Reishi Relax (1 gummy) | 200 mg reishi extract | L-theanine, lemon balm, passion flower, valerian root, 25 mg each | 2 g |
| Troomy Calm (2 gummies) | 80 mg of 10:1 reishi extract | None | 4 g |
| Ours: Cordyceps Energy (1 gummy) | 200 mg cordyceps extract | GABA, ginkgo leaf, L-glutamine, DMAE, 25 mg each | 2 g |
| Troomy Boost (2 gummies) | 80 mg of 10:1 cordyceps extract | None | 4 g |
Ours list more extract by weight and half the added sugar per serving, though gummy for gummy the sugar is the same 2 g. But our panels give no ratio, part or scientific name, while Troomy's name Ganoderma lucidum and Cordyceps militaris. Without a ratio, our 200 mg can't be called stronger than 80 mg of a 10:1 extract.
For sleep, read past the mushroom. Our Reishi label, a "Calm & Relaxation Support Formula," lists no melatonin, while Troomy sells a separate reishi gummy with melatonin. If you want mushroom and nothing else, Troomy's labels are simpler.
From our shop: Reishi Mushroom Relax Gummies — 200 mg of reishi extract per 1-gummy serving against Troomy Calm's 80 mg per 2-gummy serving, though our label leaves out the ratio and Latin name that Troomy prints.
Are functional mushroom gummies the same as "magic" mushroom gummies?
No. Functional mushroom gummies use species like lion's mane, reishi and cordyceps, while "magic" or "legal psychedelic" gummies are sold for mind-altering effects, and some contain Amanita muscaria.
When we searched "best mushroom gummies" in September 2026, several ranking pages listed psychedelic-marketed gummies next to lion's mane and reishi.
The FDA is evaluating Amanita muscaria ingredients in dietary supplements, according to its December 18, 2024 alert on the mushroom. For conventional food, the same alert found that the mushroom, its extracts and three constituents (muscarine, muscimol and ibotenic acid) don't meet the safety standard, so they aren't authorized there.
All 12 panels in this roundup name their mushrooms, and Amanita muscaria isn't on any of them. If a ranking list slips in a gummy sold for a "trip," treat it as a separate product, not a stronger functional one.
How do you take mushroom gummies by the label?
Take a mushroom gummy exactly as its own label directs: 2 gummies daily for our Mushroom Gummies, and 1 to 2 gummies daily for our other three.
The Mushroom Gummies label reads "2 gummies daily or as directed by a healthcare professional." The other three labels say "Take one (1) to two (2) gummies daily," and all four add "Do not exceed recommended dose." None names a time of day, though the Reishi formula's descriptor suits evenings and the Cordyceps one mornings.
Competitor directions run wider. Fungies says one gummy a day and Gaia two, while Om allows 2 gummies once or twice daily. Troomy's Focus allows 1 to 2 gummies up to three times a day, which reaches six gummies and 12 g of added sugar at the top end.
Don't stack blends. Our Mushroom Gummies and Lion's Mane & Chaga gummies share four mushrooms: lion's mane, chaga, shiitake and maitake. Choose one.
When don't you need a mushroom gummy?
You don't need a mushroom gummy if you're cutting added sugar, already take a mushroom capsule or powder, or want more extract than a gummy usually holds.
Ours add 2 g to 5 g of sugar per serving, small but not zero. Gummies also carry modest amounts; a capsule or a scoop of powder usually holds far more, as our format-by-format mushroom comparison shows. You can browse every format in our mushroom collection.
Research headlines are a weak reason to buy. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) notes on its Using Dietary Supplements Wisely page that the bottle you buy may not match the product a study actually used.
Who should check with a healthcare provider first?
Check with a healthcare provider before starting any mushroom gummy if you're pregnant or nursing, under 18, take prescription medication, have a medical condition or are scheduled for surgery.
Our four labels share one caution: "Consult a physician if pregnant, nursing, under 18, or have a medical condition." Gaia's page says its lion's mane gummies are not for use during pregnancy or lactation. NCCIH adds two cautions of its own: supplements may interact with your medicines, and many haven't been studied in pregnant or nursing women or in children.
Ask about the extras too. Our Reishi gummy adds valerian root and passion flower, and our Cordyceps gummy adds ginkgo leaf and DMAE. A past reaction to any mushroom, whether cooked or in a supplement, is reason to ask a provider before the first gummy.
FAQ: best mushroom gummies
Are there sugar-free mushroom gummies?
Yes, sugar-free mushroom gummies exist, but none of ours is one. DIRTEA's lion's mane gummy lists 0 g of total sugars and 4 g of sugar alcohol per 2-gummy serving. Our other three gummies list 2 g of added sugar per 1-gummy serving (4% DV), and our Mushroom Gummies list 5 g per 2-gummy serving (10% DV).
Can you trust "best mushroom gummies" reviews?
Use mushroom gummy reviews as a starting point and the Supplement Facts panel as the final word. A star rating can't tell you whether a 2,000 mg headline means extract or starting mushroom, and some ranking lists mix psychedelic-marketed gummies in with functional ones. According to NCCIH, the FDA has no authority to check a supplement's safety and effectiveness before it reaches shelves, so no government ranking stands behind any "best" list, ours included.
Why do mushroom gummy labels disagree about age?
Mushroom gummy brands set their own age lines, and in this roundup they don't match. Fungies writes its one-gummy direction for adults and kids aged 4 and up, with an adult supervising. Gaia Herbs addresses its directions to adults, DIRTEA calls its gummies adults-only, and our four labels send anyone under 18 to a physician before use. An age line only shows who a brand wrote for, so let a pediatrician decide for anyone under 18.
Do mushroom gummies have caffeine?
None of the 12 mushroom gummy panels we read lists caffeine. Our Cordyceps Mushroom Energy Gummies are labeled an "Energy & Focus Formula," yet their extras are GABA, ginkgo leaf, L-glutamine and DMAE at 25 mg each, with no caffeine row. If a gummy is sold for energy, check its panel for caffeine, guarana or green tea before an evening dose.
How long does a bottle of mushroom gummies last?
A bottle of mushroom gummies lasts its gummy count divided by the number you take daily. Our Mushroom Gummies jar holds 60 gummies, or 30 days at 2 a day. Our other three bottles hold 30 gummies: a month's supply at one a day, half that at two. Compare cost per day, not per bottle.
